Written a computer program? Made a film? Recorded a song? Designed a building? Taken a picture?
Copyright can exist in all of these - and there’s plenty more things that attract copyright too (sculptures, paintings, engravings, books.. to name but a few)
It doesn’t matter how good or bad your work is, as long as it is original, it will still be copyrighted.
You don’t even have to have put a lot of time and effort into the work as long as you’ve put in some.
And the best thing about copyright?...
As long as you can prove when you made the works, you can prevent people copying.
Certain ‘moral’ rights which entitle you to prevent degrading treatment of your works require you to ‘assert’ your ownership in certain ways. For instance, you must put your name somewhere on a sculpture.
Carefully understood, copyright can be highly lucrative. Licensing or selling your copyrighted works can bring large returns.
Perhaps you feel someone is infringing on your copyright; we can advise on the best course of action.
Your integrity as an author is important to us and should be suitably protected.
